CAS Orders Moroccan Club to Pay $900,000 to Former Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled in favor of Abdeslam Ouaddou in his dispute with Mouloudia d’Oujda. The former Moroccan international will receive compensation of 9 million dirhams from the club.
The CAS decision, handed down on Thursday, confirms Ouaddou’s appeal against Mouloudia d’Oujda. The tribunal ruled in his favor, granting him an amount of around 9 million dirhams.
The dispute between Ouaddou and Mouloudia d’Oujda dates back to October 2020. The coach had been hired by the club for four years, but the relationship quickly deteriorated. The cause was a "famous dispute" between Ouaddou and the club’s bus driver, which escalated into a physical altercation.
Following this incident, Ouaddou was taken to the hospital and began publicly criticizing the club. Mouloudia d’Oujda then terminated his contract, leading Ouaddou to take the case to the CAS.
The CAS ruled in Ouaddou’s favor, finding that the club had failed to fulfill its contractual obligations. Mouloudia d’Oujda will therefore have to pay him compensation of 9 million dirhams. The tribunal also ordered the club to cover 80% of the legal costs.
