CAS Dismisses Morocco’s Age Fraud Claim Against Cameroon in U17 AFCON Dispute

Following the complaint of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) against the Cameroonian Football Federation, which it suspected of fraud on the age of certain players, at the end of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (U17 AFCON), the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) delivered its verdict on Friday, October 4.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected Morocco’s appeal, finding it unfounded, according to the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), in a press release.
According to the same source, the CAS puts the arbitration costs at the expense of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and states that all other requests and conclusions of the parties are rejected.
The FRMF had filed a complaint on May 21 against CAF and FECAFOOT disputing the age of two players of the Indomitable Cubs, winners of the U17 AFCON in Tanzania in April 2019.
