Car Rental Scam at Marrakech Airport: 15 Vehicles Stolen by Trusted Intermediary

An intermediary acting on behalf of several car rental agencies at Marrakech’s Menara Airport is accused of fraud and breach of trust. He took advantage of their trust to get his hands on 15 rented cars, the rental rights, as well as sums of money deposited as a guarantee.
By presenting false information about the customers, to avoid being detected, the intermediary managed to recover a total of 15 cars from the rental companies, before seizing the rental amounts.
According to the owners of the agencies, who filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the individual managed to deactivate the GPS system of the cars, and turned off his phone, to avoid being located.
According to Kech24, the intermediary managed to defraud 15 Renault Clio, Volkswagen Touareg, Range Rover, Hyundai Accent and Skoda cars from three rental agencies in Marrakech.
