Cannabis Farm Dispute Turns Deadly: Man Fatally Shot by Cousin in Morocco

A man in his fifties died in Larache after being shot by his cousin’s hunting rifle. The origin of this tragedy was a misunderstanding over the irrigation of their cannabis cultivation fields.
This drama that occurred in the Khandak Abrane douar has caused commotion within the population. It all started with a brief exchange of insults between the two cousins that quickly turned into a brawl.
The younger of the two, to settle the score with his elder, went back home and armed himself with his rifle. Facing his cousin, the accused shot him in the chest. The victim died a few minutes later.
Alerted, the gendarmerie elements intervened. While the victim’s body was taken to the morgue of Lalla Meriem hospital in Larache for the needs of the investigation, the accused fled. His hunting rifle was seized pending his arrest to answer for his actions.
