Canadian Wildfire Smoke Reaches Morocco and Canary Islands, Impacting Weather

Smoke from the fires that ravaged the forests in Canada has reached Morocco and the Canary Islands and should mix with the haze on Thursday and Friday, causing temperature drops. The Canary regional authorities are on alert.
The smoke from a hundred forest fires in Canada has reached the Canary Islands, particularly Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, coming from Morocco, reports Mundo Deportivo, specifying that ash particles should mix this Thursday with the fog that has been invading the archipelago in recent days.
The smoke moves according to weather conditions and atmospheric pressure. It first passed through the peninsula, particularly Galicia and Portugal, before now heading towards the Canary Islands, explains David Suárez, the territorial delegate of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in the Canary Islands.
"As it moves, it disappears. It is therefore logical that a low concentration reaches the Canary Islands than Galicia," stressed delegate Suarez, adding that according to forecasts, the smoke should decrease from Friday, "after a change in air mass and a drop in temperatures." Lanzarote is on orange alert, like New York and several American cities already affected by this smoke.
