Canadian-Moroccan Singer La Zarra to Represent France at Eurovision 2023

Canadian-Moroccan singer La Zarra has been internally selected to represent France at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
La Zarra, whose real name is Fatima Zahra Hafdi, will proudly carry the colors of France at Eurovision next May in Liverpool. Born on August 25, 1997 in Montreal, she is a Canadian-Moroccan singer who is both discreet and mysterious. "Two years ago, I met La Zarra, who is in line with what I am looking for for Eurovision. [...] She is full of characters: she is mysterious, iconic, extravagant, discreet, embodies French chic, is charismatic. Everything is in place for a very beautiful future winner," explains Alexandra Redde-Amiel, the head of the French delegation.
In 2016, her artistic collaboration with Niro on the track "Printemps blanc" revealed her to the public. In 2021, La Zarra was nominated at the NRJ Music Awards 2021 as Francophone Revelation of the Year. The following year, her single "Tu t’en iras" made her known to the general public and has accumulated over 20 million streams on Spotify, the leading music platform. In early December, the young singer received a diamond record for this song.
