Canadian Firm Elcora Secures Manganese Mining License in Morocco

Morocco has granted the Canadian company Elcora a manganese exploitation license, which it received through its 100% subsidiary Ermazon SARL.
The license concerns the "Atlas Fox Deposit" site and allows Elcora to operate, extract, process and sell the manganese from its 16 km² mining concession in Morocco, the Canadian company said in a press release, noting that this deposit had been exploited until the mid-1950s. The exploitation method that the company wants to use will initially be open-pit.
According to Elcora, this deposit will allow the production of approximately 2,500 metric tons/month.
"The use of manganese not only offers a solution for the storage of renewable energies, but it also has the potential to create new jobs and stimulate local economic growth. The extraction and processing of manganese requires specialized skills and technologies, and the development of manganese-based batteries has the potential to create new industries that will drive Elcora’s growth," said Troy Grant, CEO of Elcora.
