CAN Maroc 2025: The Frenzy of French Supporters, Over 100,000 Tickets Already Sold

With 109,237 as of October 31, French supporters are the most numerous to buy tickets for the upcoming CAN in Morocco, according to CAF. They are followed by Belgians with 7,046 supporters, Dutch (5,958), British (5,127), Canadians (3,849), Germans (3,056), Swiss (1,714), Americans (1,245), Spaniards (1,193) and Italians (970). These figures "illustrate the passion of the country and its deep ties with African football," rejoices the governing body of African football.

Many Algerian and Tunisian supporters, as well as Senegalese living in France, will also travel to Morocco to support their respective teams. The same is expected for nationals from Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Mali or the Democratic Republic of Congo who will rush to the kingdom from France to attend the CAN matches. The geographical proximity of Morocco to France is a definite advantage for these French supporters. Royal Air Maroc and other low-cost airlines are already considering additional flights, according to Orange Sports.

"This is the first major pan-African event post-Covid, in a country that is easily accessible, just a few hours’ flight from Paris or Brussels," says a member of the organizing committee. Out of 36 editions, this is the seventh time the CAN is being organized in the Maghreb, after Tunisia in 1965, Libya in 1982, Morocco in 1988, Algeria in 1990, and Tunisia in 1994 and 2004. "Supporters from around the world are showing great enthusiasm and want to attend one of the greatest celebrations of football, with international ticket sales already far exceeding expectations," it is specified.

Supporters will have to use the Fan ID, an identification available via an application called Yalla. "This system simplifies the fan experience: access to stadiums and fan zones, visa formalities for international visitors, and enhanced security for all participants. Supporters are encouraged to finalize their registration as soon as possible, in order to ensure faster access during the opening of the second sales phase," emphasizes CAF, which specifies that this application allows ticket holders to obtain free visas throughout the competition.
