CAN 2025: Riyad Mahrez’s mother, the first supporter in Rabat
As Algeria enters the fray this Wednesday, Riyad Mahrez will be able to count on unwavering support in the stands. His mother, Halima, is currently in Rabat to encourage the captain of the Fennecs and his teammates, with the hope of seeing them win a new continental title.
The mother of the Algerian star has made the trip to the Moroccan capital with the firm intention of attending all of the national team’s matches. A few hours before kick-off against Sudan at the Moulay Hassan stadium, she sent a message of motivation to the team, saying that she is praying for their success.
This stay in the Kingdom has a special flavor for Halima Mahrez: originally from Tlemcen, she also has Moroccan roots on her mother’s side, a family connection that gives a symbolic resonance to her presence in Morocco for this major African football event.
