Mahrez Hails Morocco’s World-Class Facilities as AFCON 2025 Anticipation Builds

In an interview, Riyad Mahrez, captain of the Algerian national team, was full of praise for Morocco, which is hosting the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Riyad Mahrez is impressed by the quality of Moroccan sports facilities. "Morocco is a neighboring country, with the same conditions as us. These will be super conditions. The stadiums are good, the pitches too. It’s something that will make us feel at ease. So I hope it will be a super AFCON and that we will go all the way," said the former Manchester City player in an interview with the YouTube channel Carré.
The next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be organized by Morocco between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026 for the second time after the 1988 edition. Six cities and nine stadiums will host the competition. The final will be held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, with a capacity of 69,500. The Atlas Lions, who will be the favorites at home, will play the opening match against the Comoros on December 21 in Rabat.
