CAF Secretary General Resigns Amid Reported Clash with President

Contrary to the reason of personal convenience put forward by the Moroccan, Mouad Hajj, upon his resignation, his departure would rather be justified by a disagreement between the former secretary general and the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
As soon as the secretary general Mouad Hajji resigned from his position at CAF, on March 2, the president Ahmad Ahmad paid him a glowing tribute and immediately set a date for a meeting of the Emergency Committee to appoint his successor.
A year ago, Ahmad Ahmad had recruited Hajji because of his long experience in sports management and football in particular, reports the daily Al Akhbar. In his position, he was to bring his touch to the process of modernizing the management and working methods of CAF.
According to the same daily, Mouad Hajji cited personal reasons to motivate his decision to leave the African football body, and requested an immediate return to Morocco.
This resignation would ultimately be motivated by a disagreement between the Moroccan and Ahmad Ahmad, following the audit report that condemned CAF, noting several financial irregularities.
