CAF Ranks Hakimi’s Stunning Free Kick Among Top 10 Goals of AFCON 2021
Achraf Hakimi is not only in the CAF (Confederation of African Football) Team of the Tournament. His free kick scored against Malawi is among the ten best goals of the AFCON, according to the ranking made by the African football governing body.
Like Kylian Mbappé, the international press, Inter Milan and many others, CAF has also been impressed by Achraf Hakimi’s free kick against Malawi in the round of 16 of the 2021 AFCON. This goal is in the Top 10 of the best goals of the competition that ended on February 9 in Cameroon.
This shot not only allowed Morocco to qualify for the quarter-finals, but the goal also confirmed that the Paris Saint-Germain fullback remains a great player, one of the best of his generation.
In addition to this consecration, Hakimi was named in the 2021 AFCON Team of the Tournament. The Moroccan is the first player to score 2 direct free kick goals in the same edition since 2008.
