CAF Launches Probe into Morocco-DRC Match Altercation at Africa Cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to open an investigation into the incident that occurred on Sunday at the end of the match between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo (1-1), during the second day of the Africa Cup in Côte d’Ivoire.
The coach and Moroccan players were attacked by Congolese players, led by captain Chancel Mbemba, at the end of the match which ended in a draw (1-1).
The Confederation of African Football has therefore decided to open an investigation to determine the responsibilities in this case of attempted aggression and verbal violence against the Moroccans by the Congolese.
The Congolese team and in particular its captain, Chancel Mbemba, who lacked fair play, could face severe sanctions.
