CAF Imposes Heavy Sanctions on Raja Casablanca for Fan Violence in Champions League Match

The acts of violence recorded during the match between Raja of Casablanca and Al Ahly have resulted in heavy consequences for the Casablanca club, sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
CAF blames Raja for failing to contain its supporters, the perpetrators of acts of violence, far from the values promoted by the sport. This was during their match against Al Ahly, as part of the second leg quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League.
As a result, the Casablanca club has been given two matches behind closed doors. And that’s not all. The Greens will also have to pay a fine of $24,000 for the use of flares, lasers and the throwing of bottles by the supporters, as well as another fine of $20,000 for not providing the necessary security measures.
As for the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB), it will have to pay a fine of $16,000 for the use of flares, lasers, the throwing of projectiles and water bottles by its supporters during the match against Al Masry.
