CAF Considers Replaying African Champions League Final in Egypt Before AFCON 2019

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is considering the possibility of replaying the final of the African Champions League, between Wydad of Casablanca and Esperance of Tunis, in Egypt, just before the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for June 19.
This decision, still under discussion, is due to the fact that the contracts of some players of the two teams are coming to an end towards the end of June, making their participation impossible in case the match is scheduled after the 2019 CAN. The new recruits will also not be able to participate in the final, as they have not been registered on the 2019 list.
The proposed solution provides for replaying the final in Egypt, and in case of agreement, the players of the two clubs selected for national teams can be exceptionally released for the match.
On the other hand, the Tunisian club has returned the cup and medals to CAF, pending a decision on the date and venue of the return final, knowing that South Africa is among the countries proposed to host this match.
