Bundesliga Set to Resume May 15 Behind Closed Doors, Fans Worldwide Eager to Watch

Just like the Liga in Spain, the German government has validated the resumption of the Bundesliga behind closed doors from May 15, despite health risks and criticism.
This resumption is a boon for Germans, Moroccans and all other soccer fans, who will be able to follow the matches again.
While some championships have quickly finished their seasons by designating a default winner, the Bundesliga, like the Liga, has chosen to continue the competitions. According to AFP, the German League (DFL) convened its general assembly on Thursday. It also confirmed on Wednesday that the first matches will take place on Friday, May 15.
The day after the German government’s decision, all 36 clubs in the first and second divisions were informed by mail. For the boss of Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, it is an important and wonderful signal for the Bundesliga. His club is currently the leader with a 4-point lead over Dortmund, with nine games to go, and can aim for an 8th consecutive title.
As for his counterpart from Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke, he acknowledged that a stoppage of the championship "would not have been economically bearable for the clubs". Even if, "playing in front of empty stands will be a huge challenge, especially for a team like Borussia Dortmund that draws a lot of energy from the passion of its supporters. "Playing without spectators is not an ideal solution for anyone; but, in this crisis that threatens the very survival of some clubs, it is the only solution," he admitted.
According to the same source, Dortmund will have to resume at home with the Ruhr derby against Schalke; a match that usually unleashes the passions and madness of the 82,000 supporters of the Signal Iduna Park.
