Brothers Clash at Strasbourg Hospital Morgue Over Sibling’s Burial Location
Tuesday 1 December 2020, by
A fight broke out between two North African brothers at the morgue of the Nouvel hôpital civil in Strasbourg on Friday, November 27, 2020. The dispute between the two men concerns the burial place of their deceased brother.
The incident took place in the morning at the morgue of the Nouvel hôpital civil (NHC) in Strasbourg. The elder, aged 58, expressed his wish to see the body of the deceased buried in Strasbourg. The younger, aged 44, does not see it that way. He wants the body of the deceased to rest in the country of origin of the siblings, in North Africa (the country was not specified).
The disagreement between the two brothers was so obvious that they came to blows. Armed with a bladed weapon, the younger one struck the other high on the neck, under the ear, reports Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace. The NHC staff immediately took care of the elder, who was bleeding profusely. He was given 48 hours of total incapacity to work. He does not wish to file a complaint against his brother, the aggressor.
Shortly after the brawl, the police arrested the younger brother at his Strasbourg home. Placed in police custody, brought before the public prosecutor’s office on Sunday and then placed in detention, he appeared on Monday before the Strasbourg criminal court for violence with a weapon.
