British Murder Suspect Extradited from Morocco to Face Charges in UK

The Moroccan authorities have just extradited a British citizen to his country of origin. Nana Oppong was accused of murder.
Nana Oppong, 43 years old and from Newham (east London), is suspected of having murdered Robert Powell, 50, during a party in June 2020. Arrested in Morocco last September, Oppong allegedly tried to enter the country with a forged passport. "This is a successful international cooperation that led to the arrest and extradition of Oppong," said Detective Stephen Jennings of the Essex police.
In addition to the murder charge, Oppong also faces a series of other serious charges, including firearms possession, conspiracy to endanger lives, alleged supply of cocaine, and money laundering.
His extradition was made possible thanks to effective cooperation between the British and Moroccan law enforcement agencies, which, according to the UK Ambassador to Morocco, Simon Martin, strengthens "a very positive relationship" between the two countries in the fight against organized crime.
