British Firm Reports High-Quality Natural Gas Discovery Off Moroccan Coast

The British company, Chariot Oil & Gas announced that the new natural gas reservoir discovered in the Anchois well off Larache is of excellent quality.
According to a statement from the group, the tests carried out on these reservoir wells revealed that methane gas would be present at more than 96% in the seven reservoirs, "without harmful impurities such as H₂S or CO₂", allowing "minimal" gas processing required in the development.
This new data has allowed an upgrade to approximately 150 m compared to the previously announced preliminary analysis of more than 100 m, compared to the 55 m estimated at the time of the first discovery of the Anchois-1 well, the note specifies.
In its current configuration, the processing of the discovered gas will not require much investment, the company reassures, as it could be done from "a single gas treatment facility."
"I am delighted to announce this very positive update on the well data analysis obtained from our successful gas drilling campaign on the Anchois project," said Adonis Pouroulis, Interim CEO of Chariot.
He added: "Our ambition is to quickly bring the Anchois gas development on stream, to fuel Morocco’s economic growth, but also to provide short-term cash flows to our shareholders. We will continue to work on an accelerated field development plan, for the benefit of all stakeholders."
