Bright Fireball Streaks Across Morocco and Spain’s Costa del Sol, Visible for 600 km

A fireball crossed the Moroccan sky on the night of Wednesday, August 17. It was seen by many people on the coasts of Malaga.
The phenomenon was caused by the fall of a meteorite in the Mediterranean, explained astrophysicist José María Madiedo, specifying that the fireball was generated by a rock that entered the atmosphere at 55,000 km/h.
It started its course at an altitude of 83 kilometers above the Mediterranean, flew over the coasts of Malaga and Morocco before ending its journey 23 kilometers above the sea.
The fireball was so bright that it could be seen from more than 600 km away. It was spotted by several residents of Malaga, Cadiz, Seville and Huelva.
