Brahim Diaz: a golden offer that is difficult to refuse
While a verbal agreement binds Brahim Díaz to Real Madrid until 2030, Saudi Arabia is coming back with a financial proposal that is impossible to refuse. The Moroccan star finds himself at a crossroads between continuity in Spain and a 120 million euro contract, as the 2026 World Cup approaches.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) has revised its strategy to attract the Spanish-Moroccan striker. After an initial refusal last summer for an offer of 100 million, the Saudi officials are now offering 120 million euros over four seasons, or a net annual salary of 30 million. The goal is to make the Lion of the Atlas one of the flagship figures of the Super League as early as next season, according to Ok Diario.
This offensive comes in a mixed sporting context for the player in Madrid. Although a verbal agreement exists for an extension until 2030, the document is still not signed. Under the direction of Xabi Alonso, Brahim’s playing time remains limited: starting only four times in eighteen official matches, he has not played a single full match, accumulating 442 minutes for one goal and two assists.
The schedule imposes a strategic reflection on the 26-year-old player. He is approaching a crucial period before the World Cup in the United States, where he will embody Morocco’s hopes with Achraf Hakimi. The final decision regarding the Saudi offer should not be made until after this global deadline. For its part, Real Madrid values the commercial impact of its player in Africa but will not close the door in case of a desire to leave, setting the price of a possible transfer at around 50 million euros.
