Borussia Dortmund Resumes Training Amid COVID-19 Crisis, Players Take Pay Cut

A few days before the upcoming resumption of the championship announced for April 30, Borussia has taken the risk of stepping back onto the pitch with its squad.
To succeed in this challenge, Achraf Hakimi and his teammates will be divided into pairs to train at a safe distance from each other, Emre Can explained on German television. For the German international, it was time for him and his teammates to return to the playing field.
Faced with the financial crisis caused by the coronavirus, Dortmund players have waived 20% of their salaries during the suspension of the championship to ensure that no other Dortmund employee suffers a pay cut, the German player stressed. "We have a responsibility. We earn a lot of money and want to give something back," he added.
In the same dynamic, his teammate Marco Reus has launched an initiative to help raise funds for small businesses in Dortmund. It should be noted that Dortmund had a successful season until the suspension of the Bundesliga due to the coronavirus. The team was four points behind the league leader, Bayern Munich.
