Border Chaos: Moroccan Expats Face Hours-Long Waits at Bab Sebta Crossing

Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) passing through the Bab Sebta border post as part of the Marhaba operation are forced to wait several hours before crossing.
At Bab Sebta, the Marhaba operation is not proceeding normally. The reason is that long queues are forming at the border post. According to several testimonies received by Achkayen, neither the police officers responsible for stamping passports nor the customs officers responsible for the search procedures would care about the suffering of the citizens. Given the persistence of this situation throughout the summer seasons, the affected persons are calling on the competent authorities to intervene urgently.
Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) are asking the authorities to visit the Bab Sebta border post in order to see for themselves "the extent of the disaster and the scandal" they are experiencing on a daily basis. They also call for a complete review of the crossing procedures and the application of the accountability principle in order to ensure the proper functioning of the service and the improvement of the quality of the services provided, in accordance with the aspirations of the MRE and the objectives of the Marhaba Operation.
