Bordeaux Suitor Eyes Morocco's Mustapha Hadji for Scouting Role

Mustapha Hadji, the former midfielder of the Atlas Lions and current assistant to Vahid Halilhodzic, the coach of Morocco, is in the sights of one of the future buyers of FC Girondins de Bordeaux. He would like to acquire the services of one of the best African players in history for his Scouting team, but neither the FRMF nor Vahid Halilhodzic want to part with him.

Bruno Fiévet, the candidate for the takeover of FC Girondins de Bordeaux, hopes to see Mustapha Hadji take charge of Scouting in Africa for the French club. Knowing the career and potential of the assistant coach of the Atlas Lions, this businessman has stated that having a technician of Mustapha Hadji’s caliber will be an asset for recruitment in Africa.

"What is also interesting is to sectorize the scouts. I can give you one or two names. There is notably Mustapha Hadji, a former great player, who will work on Africa and in particular French-speaking Africa. I think that for reasons of adaptation, it is always better to have players who speak the language. Africa has many French-speaking countries: Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon... It is in these countries that we must go and look for players who can join the Girondins," reports Al Akhbar.

For its part, the FRMF considers that Mustapha Hadji is a pillar of the technical staff of the Atlas Lions and Vahid Halilhodžić relies heavily on him. Considered an important link in this chain, it is therefore difficult to part with the former player, according to a source close to the FRMF cited by the newspaper.
