New Book Chronicles Two Decades of King Mohammed VI's Reign in Morocco

The new book published on King Mohammed VI is a work by journalist Hassan Alaoui. Titled "Mohammed VI, the century of a king", the book has 182 pages with, on the cover, a photograph by Mohammed Maradji, known to be a famous photographer of kings. Its publication is part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the reign of Mohammed VI.

This new book published by journalist Hassan Alaoui at La croisée des chemins is in a way a review book, according to the website Moroccojewishtimes.com, even if the author does not clearly display it in his approach. Indeed, he reviews the most important challenges and transformations that have occurred since the King acceded to the throne of his ancestors.

For the author, we cannot really make an inventory or a review of the achievements because, in reality, the projects launched years ago, those that have been completed or those that are in progress, are indicative of the continuity and the firm determination to build a different Morocco, engaged on the path leading to the community of democratic and developed countries.

The book is divided into 7 parts. The first two deal with the style of power of King Mohammed VI, while the third is entitled "The birth of a prince... the lucky witness". The African orientation in the policy of Mohammed VI, as well as the presentation of the various construction sites and royal projects, not forgetting what the author calls "the test" of Al Hoceima, make up the bulk of the fourth part.

The fifth part of the book is just as important as it develops the rule of law "between myth and reality", the National Initiative for Human Development, justice, security and the fight against terrorism.

The author did not overlook the African dimension of Morocco and addresses, in the sixth part, Morocco’s return to its African fold, while the seventh and final part focuses on the issue of education and the new development model mentioned by King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of his latest speeches.

Current Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Maroc diplomatique, Hassan Alaoui had long worked within the Maroc Soir Group.
