Bombardier Sells Aerostructures Business to Spirit AeroSystems for $275 Million

The Canadian group Bombardier and the American company Spirit AeroSystems have finally come to an agreement. From now on, Spirit AeroSystems will take care of Bombardier’s plants in Casablanca, Belfast in Northern Ireland, and Dallas in the United States.
The announcement of the agreement signed by the two parties was made on Monday by the Canadian group Bombardier. It speaks of an amended agreement for the sale of its aerostructures activities to the aircraft manufacturer Spirit AeroSystems, for the sum of $275 million instead of the initially planned $500 million.
The agreement will take effect as of October 30. For Éric Martel, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier, this agreement could help reposition Bombardier as a business jet-focused company, reports Challenge.
According to the same source, the American buyer had committed to honoring all of Bombardier’s commitments in Morocco, including the plant expansion projects.
