Bodies of 3 Moroccan Workers Killed in Spanish Van Crash to be Repatriated

The bodies of the three Moroccans, who died on Friday in a road accident in Caravaca (Murcia - southern Spain), will be repatriated to Morocco by tomorrow, Wednesday.
A van transporting about ten workers fell Friday into a ravine at the height of Caravaca (Murcia), killing three and injuring six. The three deceased workers, of Moroccan origin, will be repatriated to their country by Wednesday, reports La Verdad.
Four of the six injured are still at the Rafael Méndez hospital in Lorca where they are being cared for, Health Minister Juan Antonio Pedreño said on Monday during a visit to the center, specifying that the other two, suffering from head trauma, are in intensive care at the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia.
All the passengers of the van resided in Lorca. Among the three deceased Moroccans, one was to retire in a few months and another had obtained the documents for family reunification two years ago, explained the municipal councilor for diversity, Antonia Pérez. They leave behind widows and several children.
Their bodies were displayed on Monday at the funeral home in Huercal Overa, before the funeral prayer at the Islamic Center of Lorca Tawhid. The authorities, in collaboration with the local Muslim community, are working to have the bodies repatriated to Morocco by Wednesday.
