Bird Strike Forces Royal Air Maroc Flight to Make Emergency Landing in Tunis

Hit by birds during its takeoff from Tunis, a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) plane bound for Casablanca was forced to return and land at the Tunisian airport.
More scare than harm for the passengers of flight AT573 connecting Tunis International Airport (Tunisia) and Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca (Morocco) on Monday. After taking off around 6:00 p.m. local time, the Boeing 737-800, registered CN-RGG, of Royal Air Maroc found itself in flight for a few minutes due to bird ingestion in one of the aircraft’s (CFM56) engines, reports The Aviation Herald.
The plane had to turn around and land safely at Tunis International Airport (Tunisia) about 25 minutes after takeoff. For now, the aircraft is still grounded in Tunis.
