Bird Strike Forces Royal Air Maroc Flight Cancellation at Madrid Airport

A flock of birds hit a plane of the national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) operating the Casablanca-Madrid route in Spain while it was in the landing phase at Madrid airport, thus canceling the return flight.
The 90 passengers of flight AT972 from Casablanca to Madrid in Spain on Saturday, September 14 had the fright of their lives. As the plane was in the landing phase at Adolfo Suárez-Barajas airport, its nose hit a large bird flying over the runway.
No injuries were reported. Only the nose of the aircraft was damaged. The passengers felt nothing and left the plane safely, as if nothing had happened.
The plane landed at Madrid airport without any problems. This incident led to the cancellation of the return flight that the same aircraft was supposed to operate. Royal Air Maroc should charter another plane to operate the return flight.
