Biden to Visit Israel in June, Second Regional Summit with Arab Nations Planned

After the historic Negev summit attended by the foreign ministers of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt and the United States in southern Israel in late March, a second regional forum will be held in Israel during the visit of US President Joe Biden scheduled for late June.
In a statement, the White House said that Joe Biden, during a telephone call with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on April 24, accepted an invitation to visit Israel in the coming months. According to an Israeli official, a team of representatives from the Biden administration arrived in Israel on Monday to prepare the US president’s visit, scheduled for late June. This first visit of the President of the United States will be punctuated in particular by a stopover in the West Bank, where he will meet the President of the Palestinian Authority and the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas.
During a meeting between National Security Advisor Eyal Hulata and his American counterpart Jake Sullivan last month, the possibility of organizing a summit of regional leaders during Joe Biden’s visit to Israel was discussed, reports Axios. This will be a second summit of its kind after the one in the Negev which saw the participation of the heads of the Israeli, Emirati, Bahraini, Moroccan, Egyptian and American diplomacy. Morocco, a partner of the United States and Israel, could be invited to this second major regional meeting.
