Beloved Moroccan Artist Abdelkader Ababou in Intensive Care After Health Scare

The artist Abdelkader Ababou is in intensive care at the university hospital center in Marrakech. He was admitted there on Saturday following a malaise, according to a statement from the Ministry of Culture.
The hospitalization of the artist, highly adored by Moroccans, was made possible thanks to the efforts of the supervisory ministry, and in full coordination with the Department of Health. The Ministry of Culture is committed to working to improve the professional and social conditions of Moroccan artists and creators.
According to the instructions left by the king, the State has a duty to "be concerned about the social conditions of Moroccan artists, especially the pioneers, and to give them special care". And as for the state of health of the artist Ababou, the ministry had promised "to ensure that he is supported materially and morally, in recognition of his artistic contributions". The objective of these major resolutions is to create a foundation dedicated to social affairs for this category of creators who have dedicated their lives to the service of art and culture.
Abdelkader Ababou was born in 1950 in Dar Zidouh (Béni Mellal). He holds a diploma from the Institute of Technical Affairs. A member of the Union of Moroccan Writers since 1985, he has several works to his credit in the world of theater, poetry and criticism, the same source specifies.
