Belgium Visa: Moroccan Applicants Face 250-Euro Fee and New Costs

The new amount is required when submitting the D visa application. Even people who booked their appointment before the new fee came into force must pay 250 euros if the appointment takes place after 30 June.

The D visa covers stays of more than 90 days in Belgium. It is required in particular for studies, work, family reunification, marriage or legal cohabitation.

70 euros more, with no visa guarantee

The fee has therefore increased by 70 euros. The amount paid covers the administrative processing of the application and is not refunded if the visa is refused, if the applicant withdraws their application or if they ultimately decide not to travel.

These 250 euros do not necessarily represent the total cost of the procedure. Depending on the nature of the application, an additional administrative fee may be charged by the Immigration Office. Service fees charged by TLS Contact may also be added.

In Morocco, most applications are submitted at the TLS Contact centres in Rabat and Casablanca. Applications related to studies must be submitted in Rabat.

However, exemptions do exist. Certain family members of a citizen of the European Union, scholarship students and certain categories of Moroccan nationals may qualify for free processing, depending on the reason for and legal basis of their application.
