The Brussels Court of Appeal has stripped 13 men - mostly Belgian-Moroccans - of their Belgian nationality, convicted by default for terrorism, reports Belga. 12 of them had joined the jihadist ranks in Syria between late December 2012 and December 2014. As for the thirteenth, he had joined Afghanistan in 2007. Their removal from the municipal registers is also effective.
In Belgium, only dual nationals lose their Belgian nationality.
