Belgian Terror Suspect Arrested in Spain: Links to Brussels Attack Uncovered

The police have arrested a person in the Malaga region for his link to the jihadist attack carried out in Belgium on October 16, in which an individual of Tunisian nationality assassinated two Swedish fans. It is a Belgian of Moroccan origin.
According to information provided by the National Police and cited by Europa Press, the Moroccan is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Belgian authorities for drug trafficking, arms trafficking, money laundering and membership in a criminal organization. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of false documents.
The arrested individual, a Moroccan naturalized Belgian, was placed under the jurisdiction of the Central Investigating Judge on duty at the National Court on Friday morning, who ordered his imprisonment, it is specified.
According to the police, the arrest was made possible thanks to police cooperation and information provided by the Belgian authorities, which allowed an investigation to be launched into the possible relationship between the perpetrator of the attacks and an individual based on Spanish territory.
After an investigation carried out by the police officers in charge of the case, it was possible to locate the individual in Benahavís (Malaga). This person would have avoided justice by using false documents.
