Belgian Muslim Executive to Hold Elections for Leadership Renewal

The Executive of Muslims of Belgium (EMB) is soon organizing elections to renew its bodies. The Consultation Commission for the renewal of the representative body of the Muslim faith in Belgium (ORCMB) has completed its work on Friday.
The organization of these elections, decided in June 2020, aims to reconstitute the bodies of the Muslim faith in Belgium, explains the organization in a press release. "It also aims to provide the Representative Body of the Muslim Faith with greater autonomy and stability with better efficiency to carry out its prerogatives," the EMB specifies.
To this end, a Committee has been set up. It will inform all the mosques in the country of the details of the renewal project. It will also organize the elections of the future members of the Muslim faith bodies as soon as possible and to the extent permitted by the current health restrictions.
"We are convinced that this project will bring solutions to the expectations of our community in all its diversity while preserving its great achievements and projects already carried out," the executive emphasizes.
