Belgian-Moroccan Politician Nadia Kammachi to Lead Ecolo-Groen in Anderlecht Mayoral Race

Nadia Kammachi, the current alderman in charge of several files including Urban Renewal and Animal Welfare, announced on BX1 her intention to lead the Ecolo-Groen list in the municipal elections of October 2024.
For the Belgian-Moroccan, this decision is the result of a collective work within Ecolo-Groen, and she was officially designated during the recent general assembly of the party. First Alderman Jérémie Drouart and Susanne Müller-Hübsch, in charge of Mobility, will thus give up their place at the top of the list.
Kammachi has also put herself forward for the position of mayor. When questioned about her plans, she stated that she wants to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants by listening to their needs and working with a team dedicated to a political project. "I am a person with energy, and who wants to fight against injustices. I am a project engineer, I have worked in renewable energy and I have put this career on hold, I will not make a career in politics," she assured.
Furthermore, she praised her relations with the current mayor, Fabrice Cumps (PS), describing their relationship as "excellent". Nadia Kammachi said she was ready to collaborate with all those who share the desire to carry out bold and progressive projects for the municipality.
