Belgian-Moroccan Duo to Direct DC’s ’Batgirl’ for HBO Max

Warner Bros has called on the expertise of Belgo-Moroccans Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to direct the Batgirl film. A new adventure for this duo of directors who have proven themselves in the cinema.
The directors of the DC film Batgirl are now known. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Warner Bros has entrusted the direction of the film to Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. For this new feature film in the Warner Bros DC cinematic universe, it is the daughter of the Gotham boss, Barbra Gordon, who takes on the alter ego. Written by Christina Hodson, the screenwriter of Birds of Prey, Batgirl is expected to be released on HBO Max.
"With Batgirl, we want to show viewers a new fun facet of Gotham," said Kristin Burr, producer of the new film in a statement, before saluting the talent of the two Belgo-Moroccan directors. "Christina’s script is sparkling with wit. Adil and Bilall exude a joyful and contagious energy. They are the ideal directors for this project," she added.
The two directors are known on the global cinematographic chessboard. They have directed, among others, the third Bad Boys film, the first and last episodes of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. They are currently in charge of directing the film "Rebel".
