BBC Postpones Morocco-Based Reality Show After Deadly Earthquake

Affected by the violent earthquake that shook Morocco, the BBC has decided to postpone the broadcast of the celebrity version of Race Across The World, which started in Marrakech and ended on the beaches of the Mediterranean.
Viewers will have to wait. The broadcast of Celebrity Race Across the World, a BBC program produced by Studio Lambert, scheduled for 9pm on Wednesday, September 13 on BBC One, has been postponed following the deadly 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday night into Saturday, leaving 2,862 dead and 2,501 injured, according to the latest provisional report released by the Moroccan Interior Minister. "In light of the earthquake in Morocco, we have decided to postpone the first episode of Celebrity Race Across the World, which was filmed in Marrakech. We will provide you with new programming details soon," a BBC spokesperson told Mirror.

TV presenter Alex Beresford and his father, English singer Melanie Blatt and her mother Helene, McFly drummer Harry Judd and his mother Emma, and British racing driver Billy Monger and his sister Bonny participated in Celebrity Race Across the World. In this six-episode version of the series, they crossed 24 countries and covered more than 10,000 km. From Marrakech to the ports and beaches of the Mediterranean, through incomparable historic and cosmopolitan cities, the powerful Alps, unexplored Central Europe, the enchanting Baltic states and snowy Scandinavia, the four celebrities and their racing partners raced to the finish line thousands of kilometers away, without resorting to air travel.
