Bayern Munich’s Mazraoui Exits Match at Old Trafford Due to Family Emergency

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui had to hastily leave Old Trafford stadium during the Europa League quarter-final second leg between Manchester United and Olympique Lyonnais. The cause is unknown.
Starting in the lineup, Noussair Mazraoui left his club during the break of this quarter-final second leg and was replaced by Luke Shaw. His coach, Portuguese Rúben Amorim, mentioned the reasons for this departure. "We had a problem with Noussair at half-time," he said, without giving further details. According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, the Moroccan international reportedly abandoned the match due to a family emergency. The Moroccan defender has made 49 appearances this season, including 44 as a starter. His Swedish teammate Victor Lindelöf also had to leave the club during the break. "Victor has a personal problem, he had to leave," explained the Red Devils’ coach.
Mazraoui and Lindelöf’s premature absence did not, however, penalize Manchester United. The Red Devils overturned Olympique Lyonnais at the end of a match full of twists and turns (5-4), thus securing their ticket to the Europa League semi-finals.
