Bayern’s Mazraoui Shines in Champions League Victory Over Barcelona

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui delivered a remarkable performance in the match that pitted FC Barcelona against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening. This match, counting for the second day of the Champions League, ended in a victory for the Bavarians (2-0).
The Atlas Lion weighed heavily in this Bayern victory. Moreover, Noussair Mazraoui’s performance was widely acclaimed by the media and supporters who are calling for his starting position as right-back as early as this summer.
Chosen by the coach to replace Benjamin Pavard in the 21st minute of the match, Mazraoui took the opportunity to show what he is capable of. In the opinion of the supporters, the player delivered a great game, winning all his duels and quickly grasping the strategies to adopt to block all the "dangerous" players of the opposing camp such as Ousmane Dembélé, who always avoided colliding with the Atlas Lion.
The German media hailed the Moroccan’s XXL performance, stressing that he offered his teammates much more offensive solutions than Benjamin Pavard. For a player who would not have found his rhythm and who was not yet physically fit to compete in the German championship, this performance changes the game.
In addition to having convinced Julian Nagelsmann that he has his place within the Bavarian club, Noussair Mazraoui has just proven to Walid Regragui that he was right to call him up for the friendly matches against Chile on September 23 in Barcelona and Paraguay on September 27 in Seville.
