Barcelona Targets Ajax’s Mazraoui to Bolster Defense in Summer Transfer Window

Italian agent Mino Raiola exchanged on Friday with the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, to study the possibility of the transfer, in the next transfer window, of Noussair Mazraoui who has already announced his departure from Ajax.
Agent Mino Raiola exchanged with the president of FC Barcelona about the possibility of recruiting Noussair Mazraoui. "Barça would be ready to make an effort for the arrival of the Ajax winger," reports the Catalan newspaper Sport, specifying that the Spanish club currently needs to strengthen its underperforming defense with players Dani Alves, Serginho Dest and Moussa Wagué.
Noussair Mazraoui, whose contract with Ajax expires on June 30 next and who has already indicated that he will not renew it, could therefore land at FC Barcelona. "It’s been 16 years that I’ve been playing here and I think it’s the right time to leave," Mazraoui had said.
The Moroccan international, who will be free of any commitment on that date, will not cost the Spanish club a euro, the same source believes.
For the 2021-22 season in progress, the Moroccan winger of Ajax has already participated in 27 matches (19 in the Eredivisie, 5 in the Champions League and 3 in the Dutch Super Cup), scored five goals and provided two assists. Mazraoui’s current value is 20 million euros, according to Transfermarkt, which points out that the Moroccan, versatile, can also play as a midfielder or pivot.
