Barcelona Striker Munir El Haddadi Rejects Contract Extension Amid Bonus Dispute

While the FC Barcelona club was going to offer him a 5-year contract extension, the Moroccan-Spanish Munir El Haddadi set conditions that did not at all please coach Ernesto Valverde.
According to sources cited by the sports newspaper AS, the Moroccan was not opposed to signing a new contract, but his agent demanded a signing bonus of more than one million euros, which the club categorically refused, arguing that the player has a hard time establishing himself in the team.
"In the offices of the Camp Nou, they cannot understand the player’s decision. The five-year offer and the financial proposal were commensurate with the player’s quality," writes the newspaper, and the request for a commission has halted any form of contract renewal.
"It is said that the player’s entourage (his agent) asked for a bonus of one and a half million euros to be able to continue with Barça, even though no one within the club has confirmed this amount," AS continues.
The coach should discuss the player’s situation during the pre-match press conference against the Levante team. The latter would have told Munir that his future was no longer within the Catalan club and that he had to find another one.
