Barcelona Renews Pursuit of Moroccan Star Sofyan Amrabat for Summer Transfer
After failing at the last minute to recruit Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat during the winter transfer window, FC Barcelona intends to come back for him this summer.
Barça continues to show interest in Sofyan Amrabat, one of the architects of Morocco’s exceptional and historic run at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The Catalan club "has not forgotten the Moroccan international and remains in close contact with the player and his entourage, eager to lay the groundwork for a transfer this summer," reports TMW.
Barça is especially looking to replace Franck Kessie, who is currently underperforming, with the 26-year-old player. The Ivorian international had joined the Blaugranes last summer on a free transfer, but he has not been able to establish himself. The FC Barcelona management is therefore considering "selling" him.
For now, Fiorentina hopes to tie Amrabat to a new contract and will continue discussions in the coming months. A release clause could be included in this contract in an attempt to reach an agreement.
