FC Barcelona: A very lucrative friendly match in sight in Morocco
FC Barcelona is actively seeking to generate new revenue to improve its financial situation. In this context, the club is studying the possibility of playing a very lucrative friendly match in December, just after its last league match of the year 2025 against Villarreal. And this match could be played in Morocco.
According to information from the newspaper Mundo Deportivo, two proposals are currently on the table: one to play in Peru, the other in Morocco. The club has already consulted the competent authorities, such as LaLiga and the Federation, to verify the feasibility of these matches in view of the convention on the players’ Christmas holidays.
A decision is expected shortly, but the Moroccan proposal is now considered internally as the most viable for the December window. The proximity of the Kingdom is the main argument: it would allow a round trip from Barcelona in less than 24 hours, without disrupting the players’ rest schedule before the resumption of the Liga in early January.
However, FC Barcelona is determined to accept both offers, which are considered very attractive. The fee for the match in Peru, estimated between 7 and 8 million, is too important to be refused. If this match cannot be held in December due to the distance, a contract will be concluded for it to take place at a more appropriate time in 2026.
