Barcelona Attack Suspects: Three Moroccans to Face Terrorism Charges

Three Moroccans will soon appear in Barcelona for their alleged involvement in the terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils on August 17, 2017.
Driss Oukabir, Mohamed Houli Chmelal and Said Ben Iazza, all Moroccan nationals, involved in the two terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, will not be tried for the murder of 16 people, nor for having caused 193 injuries in this attack. This is the result of the conclusions of the investigation carried out by the National Court in Madrid.
According to the Spanish media Nius Diario, they are now being prosecuted for membership in a terrorist organization, manufacture and possession of explosives for terrorist purposes. In addition, their compatriots Mohamed Aalla and Salh El Karib, arrested in the same way as them, were released for lack of evidence.
As for the perpetrators of these attacks, six of them were shot on the spot by the security forces. The mastermind of the group, Abdelbaki Es Settay and imam of Ripol, was killed in an explosion that occurred in a villa in Tarragona.
