Bank Manager Found Dead Amid $200,000 Embezzlement Investigation in Morocco

The director of a bank branch was found dead, late Monday afternoon, at his home in Taza. Targeted by the justice system in a case of embezzlement, the man would have preferred to end his life rather than end up in prison.
All the evidence suggests that it is a suicide, according to sources close to the victim’s family. The man would have died from a fatal cocktail of drugs.
The same sources add that the deceased, the manager of a bank branch in Taza, was the subject of an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in a case of embezzlement of more than 2 million dirhams.
The testimonies of the family and close friends of the deceased were collected by the units of the judicial police brigade dispatched to the scene. In parallel, an investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
