Baleària Boosts Morocco Routes with 25% Capacity Increase for Summer Travel Season

Baleària has decided to strengthen its activity with Morocco as part of this year’s Marhaba Operation. With its thirteen ships, the shipping company plans to make 200 weekly connections to Ceuta, Melilla, Tanger Med and Nador during the period from June 15 to September 15.
Aware that nearly 65% of its annual traffic is absorbed by Morocco, Balearia has strengthened its activity with the kingdom with eight ships, three more than in 2022, thus increasing its offer of berths by 25% on its four lines, namely Algeciras-Tanger Med, Motril-Tanger Med, Almería-Nador and Sète-Nador.
The company has scheduled 10 daily connections between Algeciras and Ceuta, including 6 by fast ferry, and could go up to 13 daily connections during peak periods. It has maintained its 12 weekly connections to Melilla from Almeria, Motril and Malaga, it indicates on its website.
On the Algeciras-Tanger Med route, Balearia has planned 10 daily departures that can increase during peak periods. The shipping company has maintained its single departure on the Motril-Tanger Med line from the port of Granada, as well as its two weekly connections between Sète and Nador. On the other hand, the Almería-Nador line now benefits from two daily departures.
This year, Balearia has set up an Arabic telephone service and strengthened its sales network with 45 ticket sales points. Balearia also offers halal food and prayer rooms on board its ships. The company also plans to strengthen its crew with more than 300 people for greater efficiency.
