Baleària Boosts Ferry Service Between Spain and Morocco for Summer 2025

The maritime company Baleària has presented its operational plan for the Strait Crossing Operation (OPE) 2025, which will take place from June 15 to September 15. To meet the expected high demand, the company will increase its capacity with a total of up to 34 daily connections between Spain and Morocco.
The plan particularly strengthens the lines with Morocco and Ceuta. The Algeciras–Ceuta route will offer nine daily departures (five by fast ferry and four by conventional ferry). The Tarifa–Tangier City line will provide up to 12 crossings per day by fast ferry, lasting one hour. Other Moroccan services include up to nine departures per day between Algeciras and Tangier Med, two to three daily connections between Almería and Nador, and a specific route between Motril and Tangier Med.
To ensure these services, Baleària will deploy a fleet of 10 modernized vessels. On board, services have been adapted to the clientele with the presence of Arabic and French-speaking staff, halal catering options, and prayer rooms. More than 300 professionals have been recruited in the delegations of southern Spain and northern Africa for the summer period.
Finally, the company highlights its sustainability aspect, with a fleet of 11 ships equipped with dual-fuel engines. Baleària also announces the launch of the first green corridor between Spain and Morocco, on the Tarifa–Tangier City line, operated by new fast ferries.
