’Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra’ Returns to Theaters with 4K Remaster and New Trailer

Director Alain Chabat has designed a special and "delirious" trailer for the return to cinemas on July 5 of his film "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra", 21 years after its first release in 2002.
For this return to the big screen, "in a remastered, 4K, Dolby Atmos version", Alain Chabat did not do things by halves. The trailer is a mix of the making-of of the film released in 2002 with excerpts from the feature film that recorded 14.6 million spectators. The biggest success of the franchise. "When I shot Mission Cleopatra more than twenty years ago, the colors of the film were dazzling, vivid, flamboyant. And then, over time and a few TV broadcasts, the tones have faded, the colors have lost their freshness [...]. Thanks to Cinéboost, my film has regained all its freshness... Even the sound is more powerful, enveloping, stunning..." says Chabat.
The new trailer was very well received by Internet users on Twitter. "By far, the best," commented one of them. "Best trailer in the world," added another. Internet users also enthusiastically welcomed the recreated vintage posters of the cult film, published by Pathé, the film’s distributor. "One Gaul out of 4 is a dog," we can read on one of them where Asterix, Obelix, Panoramix and Idefix pose. We see Gérard Darmon and Jamel Debbouze in togas on another, with the caption "A film with men in dresses".
The new version of "Asterix" has "surprises" in store, Pathé assured. The public will have the right to "some unseen scenes", Pierre Lescure confided in May, on his show "Beau geste". "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra" returns to theaters on July 5, the closing date of the Fête du cinéma which opens on July 2.
