Arab World Institute to Loan Masterpieces for Moroccan Museum Tour

The Arab World Institute (IMA) will make available to the National Federation of Museums (FNM) led by the Moroccan Mehdi Qotbi, masterpieces from its unique collection of Arab painters as part of a traveling exhibition planned for this year in several Moroccan cities.
The decision to make part of its collection available was made following a meeting on Tuesday in Paris that brought together Mehdi Qotbi, Jack Lang and the Director of the Museum and Exhibitions of the IMA, Nathalie Bondil. "These works lent by the Arab World Institute will be presented in Morocco in the form of a traveling exhibition that will begin in Rabat and continue in Tangier and Marrakech: this is a first in the history of the IMA," says the joint press release from the FNM and the IMA.
For Jack Lang and Nathalie Bondil, this initiative will allow the Moroccan public to contemplate exceptional works. "The IMA is proud to contribute to this exceptional development," they added. This project is the first of a long list that the IMA and the FNM plan to launch in 2022, after sealing an important cooperation agreement last September.
In addition to the loan of exceptional works, there is the creation of an art library at the Mohammed VI Museum, the organization of a biennial of Arab photography with a focus on Moroccan artists, which will be held simultaneously at the IMA and the National Museum of Photography of Morocco.
